There has been a bit of concern regarding Pervis Estupinan over the past few days. However, the AC Milan left-back seems to be fine.
International duty is part and parcel of the game, but when anything happens away from the club, it is obviously frustrating. So, when Estupinan missed Ecuador’s second international game of the break, against Argentina, there were concerns.
The left-back was not called up due to a muscle issue, deemed to be a ‘muscular overload’. However, given the context of the game, with nothing at risk, it was decided that he should miss the game to avoid any risk of injury.
Estupinan update
Considering the former Brighton man’s injury history, the concern was certainly reasonable, as were the worries about what it could mean for the Rossoneri moving forward. Though it seems that these worries can be removed.

As Gazzetta dello Sport reports this morning, via MilanPress, the defender has ‘informed the club that he’s fine’ ahead of his return to Milanello. Rather than an injury, it is just fatigue. Despite this, he will still undergo tests upon his return to Milano.
The reassurance seems to have been strong, though, with it being reported that he is likely to play against Bologna this weekend. Panic averted, for now.
If, for whatever case, the club opt to rest him, Davide Bartesaghi or Alexis Saelemaekers could step in to cover for him.
