Few people will be left smiling after the international break at AC Milan, but Christopher Nkunku is, and he hopes to share it.
This break has been one of the worst for Milan in recent memory. Rather than being able to carry a win into the break, they carried frustrations, and these frustrations grew with several injuries over the break.
However, Nkunku has tried to ease worries and performed well when given a chance, something which is becoming a theme.
Nkunku’s fine form
As Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) writes, ‘if he starts, he scores’ and so far, that is true. For France against Iceland, he started on the left and scored, whilst it was in the Coppa Italia where he scored his first and only goal for the Rossoneri.
He hopes to keep this run going, and the fixture against Fiorentina would be an interesting chance for him to do so, considering what is emerging about Christian Pulisic’s condition this afternoon. In fact, given that Santiago Gimenez will not return until tomorrow, his chances increase further, too.
It will be between Rafael Leao and the Frenchman, probably, perhaps they could start together. Right now, though, there is a good chance that Nkunku will be given a starting spot, and he wants to impress.
