Exactly one month after the last time (against Lecce, a 1-0 win), AC Milan will play a home league game at San Siro.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) recall, back on January 18 Milan hosted Lecce and Niclas Füllkrug scoring the winning goal. Then came the unusual run of three consecutive away games, partly due to the stadium’s Winter Olympic commitments.

Second-placed Milan, now Inter’s only credible rival in the Scudetto race, are ready to be welcomed by their fans again On a weekday Wednesday and with temperatures that weren’t exactly mild, over 75,000 spectators are expected, including 4,000 away fans.

Away from home, the team have maintained a very high pace, and are the only unbeaten team in Serie A on the road. They have earned 29 points in away games (13 in total, compared to 11 at home), 24 at San Siro. the time has come to rebalance the situation.

While a battle for the Scudetto is playing out on the field, away from the pitch there is also a duel between Milan and Inter to top the attendance charts. Both sides are close to each other (the Rossoneri average just over 200 more per game), with the home derby to come next month.
