This season, AC Milan have been fantastic. In fact, they have probably exceeded expectations already, and they are not done yet.
Massimiliano Allegri has only been back at Milanello for half a season, yet his team are completely in love with him and his ideas. They believe in their coach and his system, and the sky may be the limit for them at this rate.
Getting there
As Gazzetta dello Sport writes, they are now in the ‘VIP club’ again, fighting amongst the best teams in the division. Already, they have found themselves identifying with the Allegrian way, but they can still improve.
Primarily, his squad is quite thin, and whilst this was a choice from the coach himself, it would help to have a deeper team. Having a backup for Adrien Rabiot may have seen the team go clear at the top of the division, for example.
In a way, the attacking issues stem from a lack of depth as well. Christian Pulisic’s issues have not helped, but the Rossoneri have still picked up points. However, the poor start for Christian Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez’s extended troubles have not helped.

Youssouf Fofana could lessen the need for extra attacking talent as well. Had the Frenchman scored on Saturday, the conversation regarding him could have been much different. He clearly has the talent, but lacks the final touches.
Then, it is not really a flaw (or a major one at that), but Luka Modric had a few shaky moments, as the report writes. If Ardon Jashari were ready behind him, perhaps the workload on him would be lessened.
