Ardon Jashari was AC Milan’s second-most expensive signing of the summer, but fans have been restricted to a mere glimpse so far.
Last night, he saw his Switzerland side win in Sweden and move closer to their goal of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that the tournament next year is where Jashari expects to be despite missing the first half of the season due to a fractured right fibula.
He sustained that leg injury in late August in a challenge with team-mate Santiago Gimenez during a training session. Since then, the former Brugge man has been following a personalised program at Milanello to fully recover and return to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad as soon as possible.
Jashari’s estimated return
When will that be? Around mid-November, to be cautious. So far, Jashari’s experience at Milan has been limited to two stints in the Coppa Italia against Bari and the league opener against Cremonese. He made no starting appearances before going down on the eve of the match against Lecce.
It was a nasty injury, but one which will soon be behind him. For Jashari – Milan’s second most expensive purchase of the window after Christopher Nkunku – a battle awaits to try and get a starting spot. With Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot and Youssouf Fofana there, it won’t be an easy one.
