Ardon Jashari is now reportedly just one step away from joining AC Milan, following lengthy negotiations with Club Brugge that have resulted in a slightly improved offer.
Jashari has been one of the main priorities for the Rossoneri this summer, if not the main priority, but the negotiations have been far from easy. However, a happy outcome is seemingly on the cards, as an improved offer should be tabled.
New offer put on the table
As reported by today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Jashari continues to put great pressure on Club Brugge to give the green light for the move. He wasn’t present when the Belgian side took their team photo for the season, and he has made it clear that he’s willing to take a pay cut.
In other words, if going down a bit in terms of salary will help get the deal over the line, then the midfielder will do it. In reality, however, Milan as well as Brugge are more concerned about the transfer fee, with the player agreement considered done already.

A new offer is on the cards, as Milan have made it known that they are willing to increase the fixed portion of the deal, more specifically from €32.5m to €35m. As a result, however, the bonuses of the deal will decrease, keeping the total amount the same.
While this might sound like a very small change given that the (potential) total amount will be the same, it could lead to a breakthrough.
Deal to be finalised shortly
Relatively early on, Club Brugge told Milan that they would only let Jashari go for a fixed fee of €35m. Now that they are expected to receive exactly that, the deal is expected to be finalised within a much shorter timeframe, while there is more confidence in general.
Subsequently, Max Allegri would get the player he needs to revamp the midfield: Samuele Ricci as No.6, Ardon and Luka Modric on either side. The former will offer quality and substance, while Luka will provide balance and the leadership of a great champion.
While the negotiations were lengthy, in the event of a positive outcome, they will ultimately be seen as productive. It’s not the best possible price for Milan but at the same time, it’s not as high as the initial price tag (closer to €40m). For Jashari, who turned down an English club, it’s certainly great news.
