The Ardon Jashari soap opera is far from over, and there could well be a new entertaining episode in the next 24 hours.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that yesterday Jashari trained separately at the Club Brugge training centre, after missing Sunday’s Super Cup match against Union St. Gilloise. His intentions are clear to all parties: he wants a transfer to Italy and is simply waiting for the green light to fulfill his wish.
The Swiss international will most likely reiterate this today (Tuesday 22 July) in the scheduled meeting with Brugge management after training, also attended by his agent, who is returning from Italy after his meeting with the Rossoneri on Saturday.
Milan have not raised their offer yet, and it’s not a given they will. The directors actually believe they’ve put a significant sum on the table (well over €30m with bonuses) already and, most importantly, that the Belgians will ultimately be willing to accommodate the player.
For their part, Club Brugge have closed the signing of Aleksandar Stankovic, although he’s not considered Jashari’s designated heir. The two deals are unrelated, at least that is what is being communicated from Belgium, but we’ll see what really happens in practice.
