GdS: Juventus trying new Vlahovic strategy as €15m price rise looks possible

4 hours ago 4

This summer could have been AC Milan’s best chance of landing Dusan Vlahovic, if reports are to be believed about new talks.

The Vlahovic lure was present for Milan all summer. Massimiliano Allegri dreamed of him arriving, whilst the fanbase also wanted any capable physical striker to bring reliability to the frontline. However, Christopher Nkunku arrived instead.

That is no slight on the Frenchman, but he arrives at a time when a near-perfect idea was there and did not arrive. Of course, Allegri could grow to love the Frenchman. The admission that he had no clue how to use him, though, is certainly not a promising start.

Vlahovic’s price increase

This summer, Vlahovic was available for around €20 million, per reports. But his €12m wage demands were off-putting, so he was never really considered as an option for the club, who needed to be careful with finances due to their Champions League participation.

They could live to regret that, it seems.

Gazzetta dello Sport, this afternoon, have reported that there is hope of a ‘rapprochement’, with plans being outlined. To secure it, Juventus are hoping to insert a low release clause into his contract, of €35m maximum – €15m more than what was being sought this summer.

Several factors will play a part in the decision(s). However, it could be the nail in the coffin, as the Rossoneri hoped for yet another discount.
