After a loss on the opening day, AC Milan may seek a quicker return to action for Rafael Leao, perhaps as early as this weekend.
It is clear that some sort of alarm has been sounded at Milan since Saturday. After all, the management held a summit with Massimiliano Allegri yesterday, with at least three more signings now possible.
Of course, it was only the first game, and blips can happen as history shows. However, the Rossoneri looked well off the pace, and there needs to be a stark improvement this weekend. Something which Allegri is demanding, it seems.
Immediate changes
To aid this, the Italian is considering recalling Leao back to the squad, after he missed this weekend’s game with an injury. He is improving day by day, as Gazzetta dello Sport writes (via Garante_Il on X), and his return could be accelerated.
The reasoning? The defeat to Cremonese this weekend. Right now, it is only at an evaluatory stage, but there is the possibility that the Diavolo rely on their star again this weekend, which could prove a worrying fear.
Aside from Leao, Ardon Jashari and Koni De Winter are seeking a place in the starting XI; there is time to earn it, definitely.
