Mike Maignas has told AC Milan that he’s willing to accept the latest renewal offer, and now the Rossoneri just need to agree on the commissions for his agents, according to a report.
Maignan’s future has been a hot topic ever since the end of last season, when he came close to waving goodbye to Milan. While it seemed for a long time that the chances of a renewal were very low, the Rossoneri’s strategy seemingly proved right in the end.
As highlighted by Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Milan and above all Massimiliano Allegri have convinced the Frenchman to remain in Milano. In fact, the goalkeeper is more committed to the club than ever.
Offer details and commissions issue
The latest offer from Milan is as follows: €5m per season plus bonuses until 2030. It’s a deal that would make Maignan the best-paid player alongside Rafael Leao, finally getting the recognition for his leadership role and significant performance growth.
Per the paper, this is an offer that Maignan is ready to accept. Before that happens, however, Milan will have to reach an agreement with the player’s agents over the commissions, which was always going to be a key part of the negotiations given the expiring contract.

Indeed, many clubs have come forward regarding a free transfer and these would be able to pay significant commissions, since there would be no transfer fee. It’s only natural, therefore, that the Rossoneri will have to pay a little for the renewal.
There will be a meeting shortly between the parties about the matter, and if it’s resolved quickly, then the contract will be drafted and signed. Otherwise, more time will be needed, but both parties are calm and convinced that a solution can be found on this front.
Allegri a key figure
Allegri is usually a man who respects the boundaries of each role within a club, but for Maignan, he made an exception. He personally worked to secure the Frenchman’s permanence. Maignan repaid him with great performances and the spirit of a true captain.
In 21 games this season, he has conceded 17 goals while remaining unbeaten in 10. To that, we must also add two penalty saves that helped Milan win two huge games: first on Paulo Dybala against Roma and then on Hakan Calhanoglu against Inter.

Winning is Maignan’s sporting obsession: he had lost faith in the team’s ambitions, which was normal after last season’s struggles. However, he has regained great momentum this year, with the French company of Adrien Rabiot, Christopher Nkunku and Youssouf Fofana.
Furthermore, the presence of other champions like Modric and the guidance of a highly charismatic Allegri have done the rest. Today, the goalkeeper feels involved and engaged, a feeling that fuels his performances on the pitch.
