GdS: Milan close to parting with Origi – the solution to terminating his €4m salary

1 day ago 6

Since joining AC Milan, the €4 million salary paid to Divock Origi has haunted the club. However, there could be an end to the situation soon.

Last year, Origi existed only as an idea really. The Belgian striker lived away from Milan and trained by himself. There was a brief period where he was considered for the Futuro, but this quickly came and went.

Then, it was back to normal, and the two parties split. Despite this, the striker continued to be paid his €4m salary like nothing had happened. Interest in him is minimal, likely due to this large contract, and finding a suitor has proven difficult.

Finally over

Now, it may not be an issue for the Rossoneri for much longer, as Gazzetta dello Sport reports that a termination of his contract is ‘imminent’. Origi and the Diavolo have finally decided to part ways, with the club ready to pay him half of his remaining salary to end their relationship.

He only really lasted a season in Italy, his debut year, and then it was out of sight, out of mind, but still present on the wage books. At 30 years old, he now must find a new chapter, and Milan can move on from one of their worst transfers in recent history.
