AC Milan have set their sights on Rasmus Hojlund for the attack and according to a report, a loan deal can be made with Man Utd, though the player needs convincing.
Having parted ways with Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic at the start of the summer, it’s clear that Milan need to reinforce their attack. Santiago Gimenez recently returned to training and while he could be the starter this season, a deputy is obviously needed.
In that sense, Milan have been linked with many players in the last few weeks, from Dusan Vlahovic to Darwin Nunez. The most concrete name for now, however, appears to be Hojlund as a loan deal could be accepted by Manchester United.
Milan must convince Hojlund
According to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Milan are pushing for the Dane’s arrival and ‘will do everything possible to convince him’. Indeed, he has ended up at the very top of their wish list for the No.9 role.
That being said, in addition to reaching an agreement with Man Utd over a loan with an option to buy, the Rossoneri must also convince Hojlund. The striker has made it clear that he wants to play his cards in Manchester, hoping to prove the fans wrong after some doubts.

In other words, he has no intention of packing his bags despite the imminent arrival of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. His stance might change in the coming weeks but for now, it’s no certainty that he will accept a move to Milan.
Loan deal and figures
Man Utd paid €78m including bonuses to secure the striker from Atalanta, but the investment hasn’t yielded the desired results just yet. As such, the English side could opt to get as much as possible from a potential sale now, ready to give the green light to a loan with option deal.
That being said, the clubs will need to work on the figures. Milan want to end up below €40m overall, perhaps with a loan fee of €5-6m and a buy-out clause of €28-30m, while the Old Trafford side would like more than €40m.
Igli Tare, the Rossoneri’s sporting director, is making his moves as he doesn’t want an auction to break out. He has faith in the deal and yesterday, there were frequent contacts with the intermediaries that are responsible for the operation.
As the newspaper concludes, the main focus will be to convince the player, as reaching an agreement with the club shouldn’t be a problem at the end of the day.
