GdS: Milan eye €30m full-back package while Jashari gets closer – the latest

3 months ago 151

The start of the pre-season is closing in and Igli Tare is still working on reinforcing the AC Milan squad. Currently, there are three targets in mind and negotiations are proceeding well for all of them, as per a report.

Today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below) has taken stock of the situation, highlighting three key negotiations for Milan at the moment. The full-back positions are clearly priorities, while Tare’s insistence on Ardon Jashari remains.

Milan raise offer for Estupinan

In the eyes of Roberto De Zerbi, the former Brighton manager, Pervis Estupinan has the qualities to become one of the best full-backs in the world. The Italian, now at Marseille, no longer has Estupinan at his disposal but a move to ‘his Milan’ could now be on the cards for the left-back.

Milan have already made two offers for the player, raising their first one of €12m to €15m plus bonuses. Brighton would like to get around €23m, but the Rossoneri have made it clear that they won’t go beyond €20m.

Estupinan would like the move to materialise and he’s aided by the fact that Brighton already have his replacement in place: Maxim De Cuyper. The now former Club Brugge man was also on the Rossoneri’s radar, it’s worth mentioning.

Jorge Mendes, who is the 27-year-old’s agent, is brokering the deal between the two clubs and it seems bonuses could be the solution to please all parties. As for the player contract, Estupinan has already agreed to a four-year deal with an option for a fifth year worth €2.5m per year.

The goal is to bring Estupinan to the pre-season tour in Asia and Australia, even if just for one game, as Max Allegri needs to work with his new players as soon as possible. It should also be noted that the left-back as a Spanish passport, which should make things easier.

Pubill available for €15m

While the left-back position seems to be the priority, as the pink newspaper continues, a player also needs to be added for the opposite flank. In that sense, Marc Pubill remains the No.1 target and a boost has been handed for the situation.

Indeed, Milan were worried about his physical condition and thus had him undergo some key tests. Members of the Rossoneri’s medical staff were even present and the results were more than positive, so now it’s up to Milan and Almeria to reach an agreement.

A deal can be made at €15m, but Milan will have to move relatively quickly as other clubs are interested as well. Almeria aren’t interested in giving any favours either, ready to sell to whichever club offers the money first.

Jashari closes in

After tons of pressure, both from Milan and the player himself, has Jashari been able to free himself from Brugge? There are three clues here: the midfielder wasn’t called up for the Belgian Super Cup game, his agents were present at Casa Milan yesterday, and optimism is filtering.

And if these three clues are proof, Jashari is truly one step closer to achieving his goal: signing a contract with Milan. It would definitely be a huge relief for Tare, after so much time spent on bringing the player to San Siro.
