AC Milan are already considering future moves, and against Udinese, they will hope to get a good look at a potential idea.
This weekend, Milan will face Udinese in their fourth Serie A game of the season. However, the focus will not just be on the league. Instead, there will also be a bit of mercato interest in the stands, with the Rossoneri eager.
As this morning’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport writes (as seen below), Thomas Kristensen is a player of interest. Standing at 1.98 metres, it is easy to take note of him. However, he started the season strongly, and considerations are already taking place, even if the defence is growing.
First-hand scouting
Against Verona, he bagged himself a goal, whilst strong performances against Inter and Pisa have got the management taking note of him. Until now, the Dane had played at wing-back, but this season he is a ‘pure centre back,’ which has turned him around.
With this new role, he has already attracted the Diavolo, who could make a move as early as January, given they want to sure up the middle of Massimiliano Allegri’s back three.
Igli Tare and Geoffrey Moncada are the first two members of the management to take a liking to him, after his performance at San Siro against the Nerazzurri. Aerially, he was fantastic, and against a more technical side like the Rossoneri, the club want to assess him.
Already, he leads Serie A in numerous statistics: blocks, a 72% tackle rate, a 95.5% pass success rate in his own half and 72% opposition half pass rate. ‘Remarkable’ figures for a defender who is still only young.
The asking price
In the summer, a €15 million bid from Aston Villa was rejected, but after his early performances, this price could rise quickly. So, if Milan are impressed this weekend, they could look to act soon.
A January move could be attempted, but it seems he could also be a name for the summer. Whichever way you see it, the Rossoneri are already extremely interested, and it could take a lot for their fortunes to change.
