GdS: Milan hoping bonuses will convince Brighton in Estupinan negotiations

3 months ago 86

AC Milan are working on the signing of Pervis Estupinan from Brighton, and after the initial bid was rejected, the Rossoneri are now ready to table an improved one.

Ever since Theo Hernandez was officially sold to Al-Hilal, Milan have been looking for a replacement and with the pre-season starting next week, there is some urgency involved. After one of the first targets joined Brighton, namely Maxim De Cuyper, the Rossoneri could turn to the English side.

Indeed, the Seagull’s left-back Estupinan has ended up on Milan’s radar and an offer is now being prepared, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below). The first, which amounted to €15m, was immediately rejected by the English side.

Bonuses could be the key

As stated by the pink newspaper, Brighton are asking for around €23m while Milan aren’t willing to go beyond €20m. The Rossoneri’s second offer will be €18m for the fixed part, and how much is added to that in bonuses will be the key here.

Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent, is on the case and Milan are hoping that bonuses will be enough to convince Brighton to let Estupinan go for a little bit less than €20m. The fact that the player has already agreed on a contract, €2.5m per year for four years, should also help.

Milan’s pre-season is starting next week and with no left-back currently in the squad, unless you count Alex Jimenez and Davide Bartesaghi, it’s clear that the Rossoneri need the signing as soon as possible.
