AC Milan are working on adding a right-back to Max Allegri’s squad, and a few alternatives to the No.1 target Guela Doue have been identified.
As highlighted by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, Milan’s mercato is coming along nicely – especially with Ardon Jashari now close to done – but that doesn’t mean they will stop. In fact, the Rossoneri will also work on bringing in a right-back.
Last season, Milan had the likes of Emerson Royal, Davide Calabria, Kyle Walker, Alessandro Florenzi and Alex Jimenez in that role. Now, however, Jimenez is the only remaining one and Max Allegri sees him as a more attacking option.
Doue alternatives eyed
As has become clear in recent days, Milan are very keen on signing Strasbourg’s Guela Doue and have put around €23m on the table. However, the French side want more as they believe the player’s valuation could increase significantly during the 2025-26 season.

Therefore, Milan are also evaluating other potential targets for the role. Wilfred Singo, the former Torino man, has been on the radar for a long time but Monaco want above €30m. The more concrete leads, as such, lead to Real Sociedad’s Venezuelan Jon Aramburu (who just turned 23) and Genk’s Moroccan (but with a Belgian passport) Zakaria El Ouahdi.
Milan will continue to evaluate the matter but as was also highlighted by the pink newspaper, Allegri could make it work without a right-back. He would rely on more of a three-man backline, using Fikayo Tomori as a player to switch from right-back and centre-back depending on the phases of the game.
The aforementioned Jimenez, as well as Alexis Saelemaekers, are also options for the role if Allegri wants a slightly more attacking-minded XI.
