Since the arrival of Pervis Estupinan, AC Milan have not been linked with signing another left-back. However, they have reportedly been offered one.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) write how in theory, in a four-man defence, Massimiliano Allegri has two players available for each position available which should be sufficient depth for a season without European football.
There is Alexis Saelemaekers (or Alex Jimenez) plus the incoming Zachary Athekame on the right, plus Estupinan and Davide Bartesaghi at left-back. The centre-backs of course are Matteo Gabbia, Strahinja Pavlovic, Fikayo Tomori and (soon) Koni De Winter.
However, in this pre-season, Allegri – playing without a true centre-forward and with Rafael Leao in that role – often used a three-man defence when not in possession. Even though Milan have just domestic games to worry about, a low-cost centre-back cannot be ruled out.
Meanwhile, reports from Brazil suggest that left-back Lucas Piton – who is currently playing for Vasco da Gama – has been offered. to the Rossoneri. He also holds an Italian passport.
For the moment there are no negotiations involving Igli Tare and the Brazilian club because the Milan management have faith in Bartesaghi, after investing in Estupinan. They consider that role well covered.
