Whilst the senior window was quiet for AC Milan, the same cannot be said for the Futuro project, who have received a few new talents to develop.
It always seemed like the first team mercato would be rather quiet, and last month was for the most part. Of course, there were rumours throughout, and even a bit of late drama. However, that is part and parcel of January.
Though, there was some investment in the mercato.
Shopping in the elite areas
As Gazzetta dello Sport writes, the Rossoneri went shopping in elite centres, looking for new youngsters to develop at Milanello. In that search, they found two talents; Yahya Idrissi from Chelsea and Magnus Dalpiaz from Bayern Munich.
Starting with the former, the report proclaims he is a ‘quarterback’, capable of playing as a winger or a second striker. Formerly sought by Manchester United, the former West Ham academy graduate will now develop in Massimo Oddo’s team, hoping to find continuity moving forward.

Dalpiaz, then, is very much the opposite. Arriving from Bayern, the Austrian is a right back, already with experience in a similar set-up, thanks to his time in the German fourth division with Bayern Munich II.
Again, versatility is the key word, and the defender can play anywhere across the backline. Unlike the Moroccan attacker, though, he is only on loan currently, with a buy clause inserted. Though, his former team would also have a buy option in the future.
For now, they will join the Futuro, but their long-term roadmap leads to San Siro and the senior team. Both can fulfill that plan, certainly, it is now a case of doing so.
