AC Milan will not complain; they sit at the top of the Serie A table. However, things, perhaps, could be slightly better.
So far, Milan have been fantastic in Serie A, provided that you ignore that opening day defeat to Cremonese. Perhaps, it could be argued that this vein of positivity is thanks to that mistake on the first matchday, though.
Either way, most Rossoneros will not look for fault in the current situation. However, Gazzetta dello Sport has posed a question.
Dovbyk or Gimenez
That question, quite simply, is a case of What if? In this case, what if Santiago Gimenez went to Roma, with Artem Dovbyk arriving at Milanello, as was hypothesised at the end of the mercato?
Sitting alongside each other, deservedly, at the top end of the table, there probably is not much reason for either team to question it. However, Gazzetta feels that the scales could tip slightly in the Diavolo’s favour.

The Ukrainian could have been the ‘right man’ to lead Massimiliano Allegri’s team, given his performances so far. His penalty area awareness, partnered with his physicality, technique and precision, makes him the solution that Milan could have benefited from.
There are several ‘fast’ forwards at Milanello, whilst there is no more physical option, like Dovbyk. Of course, Gimenez could start to turn the tables, but whilst he doesn’t, that draw to the Roma man may grow larger as the next opportunity draws closer.
