GdS: Milan to face Pisa with a depleted attack again – the bulletin from Milanello

The AC Milan squad have been back in training since Sunday, preparing for the trip to Pisa, but there are doubts about who will travel.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, Christopher Nkunku will be the only forward certain of getting a call-up from Massimiliano Allegri for Friday’s game. The coach is evaluating the rest, with the attack far from being in the best shape.

Attack in distress

Rafael Leao is his probable partner in the attack: he feels better, having trained with the group yesterday too. There is no doubt about Leao’s availability, but some questions are legitimate regarding his physical condition, especially after he was unused in Bologna.

Leao is battling an adductor problem that inevitably limits him, and which the technical and medical staff are managing with caution to prevent it from degenerating into pubalgia. For this reason, he was also left on the bench in Florence on January 11th, only coming on for the final half hour.

Christian Pulisic also has his sights set on Pisa, but he trained separately on Monday. He is expected to rejoin full training today or tomorrow at the latest. The American’s condition is improving, although he may not be at his peak, but the inflammation can be considered almost over.

Among the alternatives in the department is Niclas Füllkrug, who has made seven appearances for Milan, including one as a starter in another away match against Fiorentina. It is more likely that he will remain a resource to be exploited during the game.

Alexis Saelemaekers’ recovery is unlikely. Yesterday, the player underwent a new scan that revealed a positive outcome to his adductor problem. That being said, Alexis is unlikely to be risked for the Pisa match. His participation in Milan-Como on Wednesday 18 February is much more likely.
