GdS: ‘Modric effect’ the big standout as Milan have sold 30k season tickets so far

Despite what was a very tough 2024-25 season, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the AC Milan fans for the upcoming campaign, as evidenced by season ticket sales.

As highlighted by Gazzetta dello Sport, San Siro is almost already half-full. The first phase of the season ticket sales has now closed, moving on to the general phase, and Milan have sold 30k season tickets so far. In other words, these are the fans who have confirmed their seats from last season.

For the 2024-25 season, Milan sold 40k season tickets and they are hoping that the general sales phase will help them reach that figure once again. The feeling is that they will succeed, with the fans expressing optimism after the arrival of Max Allegri, Luka Modric and so on.

As the report states, over 80% of the longtime fans, i.e. those who have had a season ticket for at least five seasons, have renewed for the upcoming campaign. Furthermore, 94.5% of the season ticket holders are Italian residents, though more foreign fans should buy in the general phase.

The Modric effect

Gazzetta dello Sport has also taken a look at the best sales days and, unsurprisingly, the first day of the sales phase is in first place. Then, in second place, we have the day Luka Modric was signed as Milan sold around 1,500 season tickets in 24 hours.

That just goes to show that signings can make a big difference when it comes to ticket sales, and above all season ticket sales. Hopefully, two or three more signings will arrive to truly boost the sales and help Milan reach 40k.
