Alvaro Morata currently does not know where he will be playing next season, even if he knows that he wants to be playing for Como.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Morata is ‘locked in a cage’. Galatasaray has been playing a reckless game, with financial demands that are exaggerated to say the least, and this has led to a standstill that truly harms everyone.
That’s why the Spanish player is digging his heels in, aware of the risks he faces. The greatest damage would be to Milan though, given that Como could even change their attacking target if the Turkish club continues to maintain such a rigid stance.
A stand-off develops
It all began in January when Morata went on loan to the Turkish champions for €6m, a spell that would last until December 2025. In June, the Rossoneri reached an agreement with Como to sell Alvaro permanently for €10m.
Now, however, the Istanbul club has made a somewhat unexpected request: they’re asking Como for €8m to release the Spaniard. Why? They want compensation for the €6m loan and payment of the striker’s current salary. In short, they want to close the deal without spending a single cent.

Galatasaray paid €75m for Victor Osimhen just the other day, but in the case of the Spaniard, the Turks are clearly changing the rules of the game. Their approach risks violating international transfer regulations, as per the report.
In this uncertain situation, the repercussions on Milan’s mercato. Indeed, the pursuit of a centre-forward is being conditioned by this impasse. This is why diplomacy is at work to mend the rift and allow Morata to keep his promise to Fabregas.
