Despite the Supercoppa taking place next week, AC Milan will field a full-strength team this weekend against Sassuolo.
The primary objective for Milan this season is the Champions League. Of course, anything more would be welcome. However, as long as they end in the top four, anything else is a bonus, which includes a second star.
Therefore, Massimiliano Allegri’s focus is on achieving this goal, which is why he will not rotate for the Supercoppa.
Allegri’s mindset
This morning’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) states that the Italian is not considering changes for the game, with him wanting to fly to Saudi Arabia with the ‘certainty’ of the top spot. This, then, includes the usage of Luka Modric once again.
It seemed the Croatian was possibly going to be rested for the game. However, he will have to wait, with Allegri preferring him to Ardon Jashari.
In recent days at Milanello, the coach has been repeating that his team must be ready for the challenge posed by the Neroverdi, especially with the issues against ‘smaller’ teams in the division. So, to avoid a fourth poor result against these sides, he will look to the starters.
The match against Sassuolo, in his eyes, is a final, and one that he cannot lose.
