GdS: No to Como – Thiaw between Germany and convincing Allegri

Allegri Thiaw

Last month, AC Milan closed negotiations with Como for Malick Thiaw’s sale. However, it seems that it will not go through.

Players deciding against moves is nothing new. However, it is common for their interest to be probed before any official offers are made to their parent clubs. This, clearly, was not the case with Thiaw’s move to Como.

After the bid was accepted by Milan, the German defender was asked several times whether he wanted the move. However, he has not given an answer to Cesc Fabregas, though an update has arrived today.

Two preferences

Per reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, the German has ‘wrecked’ negotiations. In fact, it is increasingly probable that he will reject the offer from the rising Serie A club, and there are two suggestions why this may be, as MilanNews relays.

Firstly is a desire to move back to Germany, where interest is present, though not as intense as that from Como. Bayer Leverkusen recently signed a different centre half, which would rule out a move for him probably.

Alternatively, he would want to make a point to Massimiliano Allegri and Igli Tare to believe in him for next season. It remains to be seen if there is any chance of this, especially with the interest in Giovanni Leoni not dimming.
