The derby between Inter and AC Milan on Sunday night is expected to break the record for the highest-earning game in Serie A history.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) speak about a derby worth over €8m, with 30 broadcasters in over 200 countries, more than 250 journalists and 50 accredited photographers. Inter versus Milan match will set a new Serie A box office record.

San Siro is sold out, of course, although the traditional tifos in the two stands will not be there. A choreography prepared directly by Inter (not the ultras) will brighten the stadium, occupying the first and second tier down the sides.

In the stands, in addition to the president of Lega Serie A, Ezio Simonelli, and the Italy coach, Rino Gattuso, numerous former players are expected, especially from the Nerazzurri side given Inter are playing at home. Toldo, Zenga, Cruz, Cordoba, Samuel, Cambiasso, Silvestre, Ventola, Galante, Berti and Muraro will be at San Siro, as will Serginho from Milan’s side.

Those staying at home in Italy can follow the derby on TV on DAZN, with commentary by Pierluigi Pardo and Andrea Stramaccioni. In the studio, alongside former Inter player Christian Vieri and former Milan man Massimo Ambrosini, will be special guest Gigi Buffon.

In addition to the usual cameras, there will be a Refcam (with referee Sozza’s view) and a Robycam (with aerial images increasingly close to the pitch). Before the match and at halftime, images of the fans in the stands will be shown on the stadium’s giant screens, creating the ‘Philadelphia Friends Cam’.
