Pisa supporters should be getting ready for a historic trip to San Siro, but they will be forced to watch on television instead.
The last time that Pisa played against Milan at San Siro was all the way back in the 1990-91 season. More specifically, it was 23 January 1991, a game that ended 1-0 to the Rossoneri thanks to a goal by Daniele Massaro.
Pisa are having some problems on the field given that they have not managed to win yet in their opening seven league games and have only scored three goals. However, they will not be backed by the travelling support that they should be either for the foreseeable future.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanPress), Interior Minister Piantedosi has decided to ban Pisa and Verona fans from traveling to away games three months.
The reason behind this measure is related to the violent clashes that occurred on Saturday October 18, in Pisa, before the Serie A match between the two teams, of which videos circulated online.
The measure will take effect immediately, meaning the away section at the Giuseppe Meazza will be vacant tomorrow night when there could and should have been 4,000 supporters.
Massimiliano Allegri stressed in his pre-match press conference that the team must not listen to any outside noise, especially with the chance to go four clear at the top, albeit temporarily.
