Massimiliano Allegri is currently in the process of deciding AC Milan’s starting eleven for the Fiorentina clash tomorrow, and according to a report, he could give Luka Modric some rest.
It has been a hectic start to the year for the Rossoneri, with two games played already and the third coming up tomorrow. In other words, Allegri will have to manage his resources when deciding the starting elevens, but the good news is that almost all players are back from injury.
As reported by today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, the manager is hoping to have Christopher Nkunku back in the squad, though Fikayo Tomori will miss out due to suspension. Given the latter, Koni De Winter is set to get another chance from start.
In midfield, Allegri is also thinking about giving Modric some rest, playing Samuele Ricci instead. Ardon Jashari has previously been mentioned as the deputy of the Croatian veteran, but the Italian has seemingly impressed more in training and during his cameos.
Other than that, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Youssouf Fofana will be battling it out for the final spot in midfield, with the Englishman currently leading that race (60-40% just like the Ricci and Modric ‘battle’).
Predicted Milan XI (3-5-2): Maignan; De Winter, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Loftus-Cheek, Ricci, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Pulisic, Leao.
Predicted Fiorentina XI (4-1-4-1): De Gea; Dodo, Comuzzo, Pongracic, Gosens; Fagioli; Parisi, Mandragora, Sohm, Gudmundsson; Kean.
