GdS: Predicted XIs for Milan vs. Roma – Allegri resolves big dilemmas

AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri has resolved his selection doubts ahead of the game against Roma at San Siro.

The Sunday night showdown at La Scala del Calcio pits Allegri against Gian Piero Gasperini as their rivalry continues. Milan are currently three points behind the team from the capital, but with a win they could leapfrog them, while also moving a point behind leaders Napoli.

AC Milan vs. Roma: Predicted starting XIs

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) report, there will be four players who will miss out for Milan through injury: Santiago Gimenez, Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot and Cheveyo Balentien.

Allegri is expected to name a three-man defence of Koni De Winter, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic ahead of the captain Mike Maignan in goal.

Alexis Saelemaekers – who was on loan at Roma last season – should be the right wing-back, with Davide Bartesaghi on the opposite flank. The midfield three is tipped to be Youssouf Fofana, Luka Modric and Samuele Ricci.

The front two will be Rafael Leao and Christopher Nkunku, but as much by force as by choice given that both Pulisic and Gimenez are missing out. Ruben Loftus-Cheek – like he was against Atalanta – will be an option off the bench to change the attack.

Predicted Milan XI (3-5-2): Maignan; De Winter, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Ricci, Bartesaghi; Nkunku, Leao.

Predicted Roma (3-4-1-2): Svilar; Hermoso, Mancini, Ndicka; Celik, El Aynaoui, Kone, Wesley; Cristante; Soule, Dybala.
