It’s a big one for AC Milan tonight, taking on Roma away from home, and Massimiliano Allegri is expected to make some interesting choices for the starting eleven.
After what can only be described as a very hectic period, things have calmed down for the Rossoneri with more time between each game. Hefty rotation should be a thing of the past, in other words, but the increased competition within the squad means changes are always possible.
For tonight’s game against Roma, which is extremely important for both sides, it looks like that will be the case. Since the two managers are named Allegri and Gian Piero Gasperini, there were always going to be a lot of tactical elements involved.
Three changes planned
According to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), it looks like there will be three changes. Luka Modric will be back in the centre of the pitch, while Davide Bartesaghi has recovered from his minor discomfort and will replace Pervis Estupinan.
Up front, perhaps surprisingly, Allegri will most likely go with Christopher Nkunku as the attacking partner for Rafael Leao rather than Christian Pulisic. It’s believed that this is a tactical choice more so than anything, though the American will be ready off the bench.
Since the players above make up the three changes, it also means that the likes of Koni De Winter and Samuele Ricci will keep their spots in the eleven.
Predicted Milan XI (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, De Winter; Saelemaekers, Ricci, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Nkunku, Leao.
Predicted Roma XI (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Mancini, Ndicka, Ghilardi; Celik, Cristante, Kone, Wesley; Soule, Dybala; Malen.
