Football is a funny old game sometimes, and AC Milan and Bologna will have some extra eyes on things, thanks to a previous ‘brawl’.
It seemed like there would be no chance of Adrien Rabiot joining Milan this summer; however, things opened in the final week of the mercato. Positive talks started on Friday, and by Sunday night, it seemed a deal would be done.
Despite Marseille’s transfer listing him, things were not confirmed to be happening until late, but that is sometimes how the cookie crumbles, with the midfielder even making a sacrifice to get his move.
Rabiot-Rowe face off
How his move initially gained a chance, though, was due to a dressing room incident, as reported last month.
The Frenchman was involved in a situation with English attacker Jonathan Rowe after a defeat, and this led to both players being transfer-listed, due to their ‘unacceptable’ behaviour. However, they will be reunited shortly.
As Gazzetta dello Sport states, it is ‘like a movie script’ how the pair will not reunite at the first possible opportunity. When the Rossoneri return from the international break – where Rabiot is currently with the French National Team – they will face Bologna, where Rowe moved to after his listing.
Talk about stories in football, sometimes things just pan out rather interestingly.
