GdS: Rabiot could start vs. Bologna after ‘precedent’ was set at Milanello

Adrien Rabiot is considered a ‘realistic’ starter this weekend, and AC Milan could unlock a new part of their midfield.

Yesterday, unofficially, was Rabiot day. The Frenchman touched down at Malpensa and then travelled to Milanello to complete tests and train as a Milan player. His arrival is later than that of those who were signed this summer due to the international break.

Finally, though, Massimiliano Allegri has his man. In fact, his man could even be pushed into the limelight this weekend, after an impressive first day.

A day of happiness

Marangon greeted him at Milanello, and then he conducted a series of private fitness tests at the training ground. Following that, he met up with his former and new coach, Allegri, and the playing staff.

These greetings did not last long, as the Rossoneri’s new midfielder got straight to work on the pitch, taking part in the afternoon training session with his teammates. A day of smiles, possibly powered by the celebrations for Luka Modric’s birthday, but a day of smiles nonetheless.

Engine ready

Rabiot’s last start came in the middle of August, coincidentally when he had a row with his teammate Rowe, who he could face again this weekend. In the international break, he was only given 34 minutes on the pitch.

Despite this, assurances have arrived from Rabiot that he is fine and ready. Something which showed in his training yesterday. There is ‘fuel in the tank’ and he showed what he was made of. So much so that he could start against Bologna.

Allegri was already considering it, but after the showing at Milanello, it may have to be more than a consideration. The pair trust each other deeply, another reason for the move itself. However, the precedent for a good time has already been set.
