AC Milan will have a bit of a break after the win over Bologna, which should allow some injured players to recover too.
Taking advantage of the schedule, which will see Milan not play again until Friday 13 February away against Pisa, Massimiliano Allegri has decided to grant his players three days off after yesterday’s session.
Time to recover
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the injured group – Alexis Saelemaekers, Christian Pulisic, Rafael Leao and Santiago Gimenez – will be at Milanello in the coming days, continuing to get treatment to cure various physical issues.
The Belgian wing-back, who returned against Roma but withdrew at half-time and consequently missed the trip to Bologna, remains a doubt for the upcoming match against Pisa. After Zachary Athekame’s convincing performance at the Dall’Ara, there is less reason to risk him too.

It’s difficult to make predictions about Pulisic and Leao. The USA international wasn’t even called up for the Bologna match due to bursitis, while the Portuguese continues to struggle with an adductor problem and didn’t come on at all versus Bologna (thanks also to the comfortable win).
Finally, Gimenez is continuing his recovery from his right ankle surgery in December and is a few weeks away. There’s good news regarding Davide Bartesaghi, who left the game early with a sore left thigh on Tuesday, but was simply suffering from a cramp as Allegri confirmed.
