Christian Pulisic’s rise at AC Milan continues, to the extent that he has been named the most decisive player in Serie A.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) write this morning, Pulisic arrived in Milan in the summer of 2023 and – thanks to scoring goal after goal, registering assist after assist – Pulisic has become the most decisive player in the league.
Previously, the USA international struggled to establish himself in Europe. During his years in Germany he had never scored more than four goals in the Bundesliga. At Chelsea, who more than others had believed in his qualities, he had 15 goal contributions in his first season in England.
The €64m that the Blues agreed to bring him in from Germany seemed to be a good investment at that point. Then, however, also due to a couple of injuries, Pulisic’s London story was much more gloomy.
A true ‘bomber’
Milan bought him just over two years ago for €20m. With the Rossoneri, he settled in very quickly and got 15 goals in his first season. His numbers are constantly growing: 17 overall last year, the season’s top scorer.
Pulisic has already scored six in the new campaign too: two goals in two Coppa Italia matches, four (and two assists) in five league appearances. It’s his best start, which also earned him a boost over Lautaro Martinez.
To recap, since his Serie A debut (2023-24), Christian has become the player who has been directly involved in the most goals in the last three seasons of the top flight: 46 (27 goals, 19 assists). Inter’s captain follows with 45, then Thuram, Retegui and Lukaku.

The names mentioned are all natural strikers, while Pulisic has played mainly on the right. That being said, in Allegri’s 3-5-2 system he is now playing closer to goal, as a second striker or even leading the line at times.
Speaking of leadership, the American has gone from shy and reserved to being a driving force within the squad. Now attention turns to Juventus, a team he has not yet scored against since he has been in Italy.
Pulisic could be joined in the forward tandem by Rafael Leao if he is fit enough, or possibly Santiago Gimenez again. During the break, Pulisic will fly back to America hoping for more goals (32 in 80 international appearances) and to be crowned the new hero of both worlds.
