AC Milan celebrated going back top of Serie A with a comeback win over Torino, but Rafael Leao’s injury added a sour note.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) recall this morning, Leao was forced off the pitch in the 31st minute of the first half with a muscle problem in his right adductor. It came after he took a shot from distance, attempting to repeat Adrien Rabiot’s rocket that had made it 2-1.
Milan anxiously await news
The Portuguese forward left the stadium yesterday limping and with a grim expression on his face. He will undergo all the necessary tests today to determine the extent of his injury and, more importantly, his recovery time.
Milan are hopeful that it’s nothing serious and that he’ll be available for the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final against Napoli on December 18th (the potential final is scheduled for December 22nd against either Inter or Bologna), but the current feeling is far from positive.

In fact, it will likely take a miracle to see him play in Saudi Arabia. This is certainly a bad blow for Milan, who risk competing for a trophy without one of their key players. Complicating matters further is the poor form of their potential replacements, Santiago Gimenez and Christopher Nkunku.
Both the Mexican and the Frenchman have scored just one goal so far this season, and it came in the Coppa Italia. The former has been sidelined for over a month with an ankle injury, while the latter continues to deliver disappointing performances. Christian Pulisic’s return in a positive, though.
