GdS: The week for Modric – Milan prepare for Ballon d’Or winner’s arrival

This week, Luka Modric will begin his AC Milan career. However, it will not really be the start of his new journey, admittedly. 

There is a lot of intrigue surrounding the move for Modric and how it can benefit Milan. However, we will not truly know for a while yet, despite it being official shortly. With Real Madrid’s elimination from the Club World Cup, it is time for his next step.

Whilst that step will start being made this week, he will not start work until much later, due to his commitments with Real Madrid, he still needs a holiday, as such.

All part of the Modric plan

As Gazzetta dello Sport write, his new journey begins this week. At the beginning of the week, he will travel to Milano to complete a medical and sign the contract with the team he supported as a child. In fact, this point is looked at by the report. Modric’s heart ‘races’, though this is not the Rossoneri of old, it is still Milan, which is enough.

Once everything is made official, he will go on holiday until the 4th of August – when the club returns from the east – and this is also when he will be unveiled as a new signing to the fans, like how it panned out with Alvaro Morata last season.
