GdS: Tonali, Leao and now Modric – Maestro the latest to become shirt-selling king

AC Milan have a new shirt seller in town, and, as you would expect, it is a legend of the game. Of course, it is Luka Modric.

Shirt sales are not the be-all and end-all of a club’s revenue, but they all add up very quickly, especially with the price of shirts rising. Nevertheless, that is a different topic entirely; instead, they are also a great way to see fans’ favourites.

For a while, Sandro Tonali was the leading shirt seller, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, via MilanNews. After all, it makes a lot of sense, the son of the club, a fan favourite, and a star player. However, when he departed for Newcastle United, someone else had to take over.

That player was Rafael Leao, again, as you would expect. The next star and probably a more visible name in global football than others in the team at that point.

Modric Mania

Now, it is no longer the case, with Modric becoming the leader, as reported in recent days. It is clear to see why, too. The Croatian may not have many more shirts left in the European limelight, so fans want a memory piece.

Additionally, his performances so far have further cemented him as a great, if that was to be questioned at all.
