GdS: Two options – Jashari offers Allegri chance to reshuffle Milan midfield

Tomorrow, AC Milan will play a friendly largely to assess Ardon Jashari’s situation and help him get match fit again.

With Jashari’s injury, there was no need to rush him back. After all, it would have done no good. Whilst frustrating, the wait will hopefully be worth it, and tomorrow, he can truly start to return to the field as normal.

The Jashari role

Before his injury, as Gazzetta dello Sport recalls, Massimiliano Allegri stated that he could play in front of the defence, like how Luka Modric does. Alternatively, he could partner with someone in a two-man midfield, given he played as a mezzala in Belgium.

So, what will Allegri choose?

A two-man midfield would be beneficial to help manage difficult situations, for example, the games against Pisa, Parma and Atalanta, where the pace of the game was quickly taken out of the Diavolo’s hands. Then, the scoreline followed.

Jashari already possesses the skills to excel in this role.

Whilst he will not be able to replace Modric, he can offer an alternative which is greater than what is currently available. Learning the ways of Serie A will take time, but alongside Modric and Adrien Rabiot, Milan expect him to grow ‘exponentially’, especially with these lessons from the elders.
