The pressure is on both AC Milan and Inter to perform this weekend, but it seems that the visitors may slightly have to give more.
Looking at this weekend’s game, it almost feels like a new era of the derby. Inter had a successful era in the Stefano Pioli years, whilst last year, it was the Rossoneri who dominated. Now, though, both teams have new coaches.
For that reason, it feels like a fresh start, but the past still weighs, as does the future.
Pressure tilts on Milan
Inter, as Gazzetta dello Sport writes, will be keen to overturn last year’s results, where they lost three games against Milan, drawing the other two. A year that could have been great turned into one to forget.
However, it appears the pressure is on the Rossoneri.
Massimiliano Allegri’s team come into this game playing catch-up, sitting two points behind their biggest rivals. A loss would be devastating to their hopes of the Scudetto. Not ending, but it would hurt.

They also come into this game unbeaten since the first weekend, which adds a layer of pressure. Allegri is working on a plan for three points, and playing that idea out will not be an easy feat.
It is also worth remembering how much of a test this game will be for Christian Chivu. His Inter are not their own team yet, there are still traits from Simone Inzaghi. He is under scrutiny, and there is no hiding in the derby.
