GdS: Why Torriani won’t be in the squad for Milan’s clash against Bari

Lorenzo Torriani will not be available for AC Milan’s Coppa Italia clash against Bari tonight, according to a report, and it’s all due to an incident on the training ground.

Torriani was one of the exclamation marks during the pre-season, making some impressive saves against high-level opponents, and the Rossoneri believe in him a lot. However, as the third-choice goalkeeper currently, it’s not clear whether he will leave on loan or not.

In any case, he’s currently in the first-team squad and Max Allegri is counting on him as one of the goalkeepers. For the game against Bari, however, the manager will have to do without the youngster due to an injury.

Injury brings Torriani to a halt

According to Gazzetta dello Sport this morning (see photo below), Torriani will be the only missing first-team player in the squad. At Milanello earlier this week, during one of the training sessions, the goalkeeper injured one of his fingers and was forced to stop.

XI explained Bari

No risks have been taken by the medical staff and as such, he’s currently sidelined. There was no mention of any recovery times in the newspaper’s report, but hopefully it’s nothing too serious as Torriani might also be used by the Futuro this season.

Mike Maignan will be the starting goalkeeper tonight, in case you were wondering, and Pietro Terracciano will be on the bench.
