Genoa 1-2 Milan Primavera: Early red card paves the way for the Rossoneri

A negative trend was thankfully reversed for Milan Primavera this afternoon, as they collected all points from their game against Genoa.

After three games without a win, including two defeats, Milan Primavera managed to get back to winning ways this afternoon. Despite the poor run of form lately, they headed into the game with a good chance as Genoa have also struggled recently.

That said, you could definitely argue that the Rossoneri got a huge helping hand. After 30 minutes of very little action, similarly to the first team’s game yesterday, Genoa had one of their players sent off for dissent. A huge blow for the home side, who suddenly were down to ten men.

Just before the break, in the 45th minute, Milan opened the scoring through Nirash Perera. It was really all thanks to Tommaso Mancioppi, who ran into the box, fooled the defenders and played the ball for Perera to slot it home.

The second half continued to be Milan-heavy, even if Genoa had one or two chances to find a way back into the game. The decisive goal came in the 69th minute as the substitute Francesco Domnitei received the ball on the edge of the box and found the net with a nice finish.

Things did get a little bit interesting, from the neutral fan’s point of view, in injury time as Genoa pulled one back. However, it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback and Milan thus came away with all three points from the game.

They are now 9th in the league with 34 points, the same as Genoa.
