Santiago Gimenez is expected to play from start for AC Milan against Bologna tomorrow. Without a doubt, he will be looking to replicate his only brace for the Rossoneri.
After what was an intense international break due to World Cup qualifiers, league football is now back and Milan will be up against Bologna. There is some momentum after the win against Lecce, but tomorrow’s clash will be no walk in the park.
Last season, Milan’s home game against Bologna ended 3-1 after a second-half comeback. Riccardo Orsolini gave the Rossoblu the lead at the start of it, but then the Rossoneri switched gears and found the back of the net three times.
Gimenez to strike again?
Gimenez was a key player in the win, scoring two goals in quick succession. It’s his only brace for Milan so far and considering he played just 25 minutes that game, it’s very impressive. The goal tomorrow will certainly be to repeat that feat.
The fact that the Mexican scored during international duty will probably help massively too, with confidence now restored after a few tough weeks with many mercato rumours. Max Allegri only had good things to say during his presser earlier today as well…
“I’m happy with what Gimenez has done for the national team: he’s good, he’s got goals in his legs. He arrived in January last year, and the first six months, especially coming in mid-season, are a period of adjustment. I think Gimenez can have a great season this year.”
