Two of AC Milan’s on-loan players impressed at the weekend, boosting the chances of a nice cash injection next summer.
Bologna and Fulham are two clubs that are pretty far apart at the moment, and not just in geographical terms. The Rossoblu are dreaming of a Champions League spot again having surged up into fifth, while the Cottagers have found themselves near the drop zone.
On Saturday, Bologna secured a 3-0 away win over Udinese to keep their good run going, while Fulham beat high-flying Sunderland 1-0 at home. The thin thread that links them: Milan loanees played a big role.
Pobega the protagonist
Pobega was the star of the match for Bologna, scoring a brace. He is increasingly becoming one of coach Vincenzo Italiano’s most important players: in the last three games, the midfielder has started every match and is proving to be an essential part of the coach’s plans.
This is natural considering this is their third spell together, following his loan at Spezia and last season with the Rossoblu. A conditional obligation to buy has been included in the loan agreement with Milan and it is almost certain to be triggered, with the Rossoneri set to pocket €7m.

Chukwueze unlocks the game
Chukwueze’s first Premier League goal hasn’t arrived yet, but his performances are clearly improving, so much so that Fulham fans have dedicated a chant to the winger and there are calls on social media to sign him permanently.
The Premier League side agreed a loan this summer with a €23m option to buy. The lovely assist that Chukwueze got for the winner on Saturday was the first step towards proving that he is worth that fee, but there is a lot of work still to be done.
