Gravina states Milan ‘can’t be left out’ of Euro 2032 selection: “San Siro is up for sale”

AC Milan and Inter are currently working on the purchase of San Siro, which the FIGC president hopes will be a choice for the EURO 2032.

There are several things that a purchase of San Siro can help with, and one of the big things has to do with the European Championship in 2032. Ultimately, UEFA have avoided the stadium, at least in its current state, given it is not suitable for large capacity events.

So, a renovation is needed at the very least. We know already, though, that the plans are to build a new stadium, and that is why a new architect has already been appointed to the project. Regardless of that fact, time must be considered too.

It was hoped that the stadium would have been purchased by now, but there are struggles with getting a deal over the line. So much so that Milan turned to get support from the party founded by Silvio Berlusconi.

Gravina’s support

Imaginably, the new stadium would be one of the showpieces of Italian football and Italy generally. So, it should be a given for the Euros, and Gabriele Gravina said as much to Radio Anch’Io Sport on Radio1, via MilanNews.

“San Siro is up for sale? A city like Milan can’t be left out of the selection of the five stadiums for the Euro 2032 finals.”
