‘Have been pushing’ – Romano says Premier League clubs were interested in Harder

AC Milan are waiting to get a deal done for Conrad Harder, and whilst everything is agreed, there is a delay in the signing.

A deal for Harder is ready to go, the player has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Milan, whilst the deal between the two clubs has also been agreed. However, there is now a delay in the youngster’s arrival.

It was suggested that the Dane would be in Milano today to finish the signing, and that looked to be true. However, the deal is now reliant on Sporting finding a replacement before the end of the mercato, though this looks quite probable.

Romano’s update

Fabrizio Romano, today, has offered an update on things, and @Garante_Il has relayed his comments on X.

“At this time (4:06 PM), the medical hasn’t been approved yet. Milan still needs to sort out some things regarding the player and then get Sporting’s approval. Meanwhile, Sporting is closing in on a replacement, who will be Ioannidis.

“There was never any approval for Harder’s medicals. There was talk of him arriving last night, then this morning, then this evening, then tomorrow, the day after tomorrow… As soon as we know anything about the timing, we’ll let you know for sure. Without postponing things that haven’t been scheduled.

“We’re waiting for Sporting’s approval. Meanwhile, the fact that he’s finding a replacement is important. We know Rennes have been pushing for days, and there have been calls from the Premier League, but for now, Milan are waiting to close the Harder deal.”

Perhaps the news of Premier League interest may settle some a little. However, it is still a risk considering other options available this summer.
