Hiljemark and Pisa hoping for new manager effect against Milan: “Ready to fight”

Oscar Hiljemark was recently announced as the new manager of Pisa and his second match in charge will be against AC Milan. A huge opportunity for him to send a signal, in other words.

After a far from ideal first half of the season, Pisa decided to part ways with the former Milan striker Alberto Gilardino. On Tuesday, the Swede and former Serie A midfielder Hiljemark was announced as the new manager for the team.

Last night, as Pisa faced Hellas Verona, he was in the dugout for the first time and although a win would have been preferred against the rock-bottom side, he at least got a draw. Milan are up next and the goal is perhaps to replicate the 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture.

Eleven against eleven

Speaking to the media at the press conference after the game (via MilanNews), Hiljemark shared his thoughts on the game against Milan. You would expect both him and Pisa to hope for a ‘new manager effect’ against the Rossoneri.

Milan are up next…

“When the match starts, anything can happen. I want to win every time my team plays. Against Milan, we need a certain type of tactical work, but on Friday we will enter the pitch to get a result.”

Can you beat Milan?

“They are a great team, but we are also eleven players. We have to try to win in front of our fans. We are ready to fight together.”
