In the past 18 months, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been regularly criticised. However, he has shown his worth to AC Milan this summer.

There is a debate to be had about Ibrahimovic, his role at Milan and the need for it. Of course, there are a lot of negatives here. Though, this summer, there have also been some positives to getting deals done.

The Swede has taken a back seat, handling less ‘front-of-house’ responsibilities and working in the background to restore the Rossoneri; a typically un-Zlatan-like position, indeed. It seems to be working, though.

Ibra’s impact

As HLN reports, the Swede played a big part in the move for Jashari happening. The Belgian outlet, as MilanNews relays, state that Ibra actually called Jashari directly during the stalemate to reassure him of the project and outline his part in it.

With this, Jashari became more comfortable comitting himself to the club, as you would imagine after such a call. Already a dream move before the call from the former striker, the call seems to have been ‘crucial’ to further the pressure on the situation, with the Swissman only reaffirming his desire to the Diavolo.

A deal was finalised for €37 million, including bonuses, and though Ibrahimovic did not do anything publicly like others, he was still a big part in the deal. A welcomed outcome, indeed.
