Liverpool may well be gearing up to do some business during the January transfer window soon - although one thing’s for sure, it won’t be as busy as it was during the summer.

A hectic window saw a major overhaul of Arne Slot’s squad earlier this year, with big names coming and going in both directions. While much has been made of the record-breaking signings of Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, there has also been plenty of attention on the players that made way for the influx of new players.

Liverpool offloaded a total of 12 senior players during the summer - eight on permanent deals, with four loan moves.

As we approach 2026, and of course the halfway point of the season, we've taken a look at how those 12 players have been faring since leaving Liverpool...

Luis Diaz

Luis Diaz has certainly hit the ground running since making the move to Bayern Munich. The Colombian has 13 goals and seven assists from his 22 appearances across all competitions, with the Bundesliga giant having won all but one of the games he's played in, underlining just how important he is to his new club.

The 28-year-old has been earning rave reviews in Germany, although he did blot his copybook with a red card in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain, having scored both of the goals in the 2-1 win in the French capital. Nevertheless, he's proving to be worth every penny of the $88 million Bayern paid for him, and some pundits have suggested that his old club is missing him this season.

Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez has made a bright start after making the move to Saudi Arabia, having joined Al-Hilal. Five goals and two assists is certainly a decent return from his 11 games for the club so far.

The 26-year-old has been hampered with injury problems this season, which have seen him miss a few games over the past couple of months, although he is already attracting interest in another transfer, with a move back to South America having been touted.

Jarell Quansah

Although it wasn't the best of starts to the season for Bayer Leverkusen, with Erik ten Hag fired after just two league games, Jarell Quansah has enjoyed a good start to his time in Germany. The 22-year-old has managed to earn himself a regular spot in Leverkusen's defense, having made 20 appearances so far and scored two goals in the process.

Among his biggest achievements since leaving Anfield are holding Manchester City to a clean sheet in an impressive Champions League win at the Etihad Stadium and making his England debut in November. Liverpool might well want to make use of that buy-back clause soon.

Ben Gannon-Doak

Things haven't quite gone as Ben Gannon-Doak would have hoped after making the move to Bournemouth. The young winger has made just five appearances for the Cherries, including just one start in a Carabao Cup defeat to Brentford.

He hasn't been helped by a hamstring injury picked up while helping Scotland qualify for the World Cup, with the 20-year-old having undergone surgery last month. He'll hope he doesn't spend too long out before the Tartan Army jets off to next summer's tournament.

Caoimhin Kelleher

Caoimhin Kelleher finally realized his dream of becoming a No. 1 goalkeeper in the Premier League when he made the move to Brentford, having been the understudy to Alisson Becker for so long.

After a nightmare start to the season for the Bees, Keith Andrews' side has bounced back to sit mid-table. Kelleher has continued to impress, playing every minute in the league this season, with his penalty save to deny Bruno Fernandes against Manchester United probably the high point of his season so far, although a win over his old side might rank highly as well.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Certainly the most controversial departure of the summer, it hasn't exactly been a smooth introduction to life at Real Madrid for Trent Alexander-Arnold. After his side's semifinal exit from the Club World Cup, the Reds' former vice-captain has been in and out of the side, and he currently finds himself on the sidelines through injury yet again, and is not expected back until February.

To rub salt into the wounds for Alexander-Arnold, his return to Anfield last month couldn't have gone much worse, having been roundly booed as Real fell to a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Tyler Morton

An exit that went somewhat under the radar, Tyler Morton has actually been making quite the name for himself at Lyon - in more ways than one. The 22-year-old midfielder has started all but two of the French side's league games this season, with his absence earlier in the season coming courtesy of a suspension after a reckless red card against Stade Rennais, for which Morton ended up issuing an apology on social media.

He looks to have made himself at home in France though, with Lyon in the hunt for a spot in next season's Champions League, and sitting pretty at the top of the standings in the league phase of the Europa League.

Nat Phillips

A cult hero during his time at Anfield, Nat Phillips will be aiming to be back in the Premier League next season after joining Championship side West Brom in the summer.

The defender has nailed down a spot in the heart of the Baggies' defense, and was even handed the captain's armband for their latest game against Hull. West Brom though has a lot of work to do if it's to be in the mix for the playoffs during the second half of the season - it currently sits seven points off the top six, having already lost 10 of its 22 games.

Harvey Elliott

To say things aren't going well for Harvey Elliott at Aston Villa would be an understatement. It seemed as though the England U21 international had found his new home when he made the move on loan to Villa Park in the summer. With just 10 appearances needed to meet the obligation to make the move permanent, his exit from Anfield looked to be a formality.

Unai Emery has had other ideas though. Elliott finds himself completely frozen out of Villa's squad, and it doesn't look as though he will make the five appearances he still needs to make his transfer permanent.

The 22-year-old finds himself in a tricky situation now. Having made an appearance for Liverpool at Newcastle at the start of the season, he can't now move to another club, meaning his only options are to stay at Villa - and likely play no more games - or return to Liverpool, where he was already struggling for game time.

Kostas Tsimikas

Having been relegated to third-choice left-back after Milos Kerkez's arrival, Kostas Tsimikas headed out on loan to Roma, where he made a steady start to life in Italy.

Things don't appear to be going to plan at the moment though. There are increasing suggestions of dissatisfaction in the Greek international, and reports in Italy are suggesting he could make an early return to Liverpool in January. Thankfully for him, unlike Elliott, there would be the option to immediately move to another club.

Vitezslav Jaros

You'll no doubt remember Vitezslav Jaros for his unexpected cameo off the bench at Crystal Palace last season. The Czech international joined Ajax on loan in the summer, where he was signed by former Liverpool coach John Heitinga.

Heitinga though has since been fired after a poor start to the season, and Jaros' position as the club's number one goalkeeper looked under threat as he was relegated to the bench for six consecutive games during October and November. He has since won his spot in goal back, and his return has seen an upturn in form for Ajax, who finally recorded their first Champions League win of the season against Qarabag earlier this month.

Harvey Davies

Another Liverpool goalkeeper gaining some experience out on loan, Harvey Davies will hope things start to pick up during the second half of the season at Crawley Town.

The Sussex club finds itself floating just a point off the League Two drop zone, with relegation to non-league a very real worry at the moment. Davies, to his credit, has established himself as the club's No. 1 and managed to keep a couple of clean sheets, although a finger injury saw him miss the whole of October and much of November.
