A new report has shed light on how Roberto De Zerbi’s impending appointment at Tottenham Hotspur has gone down with some of the club’s squad.
The majority of Tottenham’s first-team squad is currently away on international duty, but they would not have been surprised to see the back of Igor Tudor.
The Croat is now set to be replaced in the Spurs hot seat by De Zerbi, who is set to return to the Premier League two years after his exit from the Amex Stadium.
Spurs’ move for De Zerbi is seen as a major gamble by some pundits, given the club’s current predicament, but the feeling inside the Tottenham dressing room appears to be different.

Tottenham players are excited about the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi
The Times’ Tom Allnutt has now revealed that the news of the Italian’s expected arrival has been received positively in the Spurs dressing room.
Allnutt claimed that some of the Tottenham players who are currently at Hotspur Way met for dinner on Monday to discuss the possibility of De Zerbi’s arrival, which they are excited by.
The journalist pointed out that excitement is part of the gamble Spurs are taking, with the North London club’s hierarchy hoping that the former Brighton boss can get the players to buy into his methods, given his impressive pedigree.
De Zerbi would bring a kind of clout and status that Frank and Tudor just never had

Spurs did not even approach fan favourite Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino has flirted with a return to Tottenham on several occasions, but the former Spurs boss is only available after the World Cup, as he is contracted until then with the US national team.
Many Spurs fans had already had their heart set on the Argentine coach’s fairytale return to N17, seven years on from his exit from the club.
However, Pochettino has insisted that no one at Tottenham spoke to him, which suggests that Vinai Venkatesham and co always had their sights set on De Zerbi as their preferred option.
