Arsenal is set to host Atletico Madrid at the Emirates on Matchday 3, having won both of their Champions League matches this season.

This match is expected to be the Gunners' most significant challenge in the European campaign so far as they aim to maintain their position at the top of the expanded league table. The current Premier League leaders have already successfully faced Athletic Club and Olympiacos this season. However, Diego Simeone's team is expected to provide a tougher competition when they visit London on Tuesday.

Atletico Madrid, currently fourth in La Liga, have remained undefeated in six games across all competitions. Despite this, the Madrid giants are still in search of their first away win of the 2025/26 campaign as they head to north London.

It has been over seven years since these teams last met in the semi-finals of the 2017/18 Europa League. Atleti emerged victorious on that occasion before going on to claim the continental silverware, hoping a win over the Gunners will bring similar good fortune this time around.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 8pm BST (3pm ET) on Tuesday. Amazon Prime has secured the rights to broadcast this week's showdown between two of Europe's footballing giants. To tune in, you'll need a valid Amazon subscription, with coverage kicking off from 6:55pm BST time.

You can catch all the action at the Emirates for free by signing up for a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime. Just remember to cancel the trial before the 30 days are up to avoid being charged.

Mikel Arteta may field the same starting XI that clinched a 1-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday, thanks to Leandro Trossard's decisive goal.

The former Barcelona player continues to grapple with the absences of captain Martin Odegaard and attackers Noni Madueke, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus.

Diego Simeone

Diego Simeone has previously spoken about his behaviour on the touchline

Viktor Gyokeres is still chasing his first European goal for the Gunners after seven games without finding the back of the net since his summer move. Meanwhile, ex-Real Sociedad star Mikel Merino could be drafted into midfield to provide some extra strength against Los Rojiblancos.

On the other hand, Simeone might have to shuffle his pack and replace Nicolas Gonzalez at left wing-back after he was forced off with an injury during Saturday's 1-0 triumph over Osasuna.

The manager's son, Giuliano, is among those in contention to fill the void, while Thiago Almada will also be eager to start after coming off the bench to score the winner against Osasuna.

Midfielder Johnny Cardoso represents the most notable omission for Simeone and will not be participating at the Emirates. Additionally, defensive hopeful Ilias Kostis will also be unavailable for the travelling squad.
