After Liverpool firmly established itself as the favorite to qualify for the Champions League ahead of Chelsea, the Stamford Bridge side goes to Brighton looking to cut the gap to four points.
Chelsea is now trailing Liverpool by seven in the race for fifth spot, and it is level with Bournemouth and Brentford as things stand. It has failed to score in any of its last four Premier League fixtures, which is its worst record in 28 years.
Chelsea's only win in its last seven in all competitions came against Port Vale in the FA Cup, with today's game taking place midweek rather than at the weekend as a result. On Sunday, it has Leeds in the semi-finals at Wembley.

Injury-wise, Joao Pedro could return to face his former club, but Estevao is definitely out. Enzo Fernandez is fine after he was substituted with cramp late on against Manchester United on Saturday.
Levi Colwill and Reece James should play again this season, but neither will feature here. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has a muscle issue and goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is missing too.

Brighton, who drew 2-2 with Tottenham at the weekend, should have Kaoru Mitoma available, though he too felt cramp at the weekend. Lewis Dunk is suspended after reaching 10 yellow cards.
Solly March and James Milner have minor issues that could keep them out, while Adam Webster, Diego Gomez and Stefanos Tzimas are all set to be missing for Fabian Hurzeler.
Rosenior is under pressure to improve results after he replaced Enzo Maresca earlier in the season. The former Strasbourg boss was at Brighton for four years when he was a player.

"I had a special time there," he said. "It was full of — and still is full of — very good people. It doesn't surprise me to see the growth of the club.
"The way they've built the infrastructure, the way that they've built that football club, is very good.
"I'm not surprised to see them where they are now in the league table. Fabian [Hurzeler, Brighton's head coach] is doing a fantastic job.
"It’s a club that has been built in a way, and that is built for consistency. They’ve got players who have understood the system for a long time, and they’re going to be a really difficult team to play against."
